I am seriously bummed with this polish. I found it at Rite Aid during my recent visit to New York (there are, sadly, NO Rite Aids in the entire state of Florida) and I was overjoyed. I adore blue and this duochrome blue was absolutely SCREAMING my name when I saw it on the shelf. This was the first and, to date, only time I've ever seen this brand so it flew into my hand and I took it right home with me (well, I paid for it first, lol). Here is how it looked after two coats:
Pretty enough, right? Unfortunately, it was really challenging to work with. It was clumpy and thick and quite hard to apply. It took me a while to get a semblance of two nice coats on. I started out with base coat on my thumb, then applied the polish and it was SUPER clumpy. So I took the base off all ten nails and started again. It was still thick, though. Perhaps I got a wonky bottle, anything is possible, but regardless, I was bummed. Sadly, it also began chipping just 12 hours later. Here is a shot of my hand the morning after polishing:
Aside from the chip on my pinky finger, the thumbnail of my right hand had a chip as well. This was after top coating, too. So, yeah, I was disappointed with my first Chameleon experience. I'm not one to throw the baby out with the bath water and I would certainly be willing to try this product again in the future if the opportunity arises for me to find it anywhere since I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to ANY product. It's always possible for one to get the random "dud" bottle. If you have any experience with this brand, do let me know how things went for you!

Hunny Bunny ... I have a Rite Aid within easy walking distance, so anything you ever need/want from there, let me know. I will be more than happy to mail it to you. xoxoxo Love you MORE!! <3 <3
Thank you soooo much, sweets. That's awesome, I wouldn't have even thought to ask you. There is another brand there that looked super-cool called Jesse's Girl. I bought three of them while I was at Mom's but haven't tried them yet. Once I do, I might be in the market for more and I so appreciate the offer. Love YOU...MORE! xoxo
I have seen this brand alot and never taken the plunge. I love the look of the duochromes they have though.... tempted to go get one see if I have the same luck. And yeah we also have a ton of rite aids to same goes for me.
Hmmmmm I haven't seen these before either. It's such a pitty that it was clumpy and chipped! It is SUCH a pretty color! BOO to bad polishes!! UGH!!!
LOVE YOU!!
Thanks, ladies! Yeah, total bummer. :(
Ashley, I'm really hoping that this was a freak thing. I so appreciate the offer, too, thanks sweet pea. I just might take you up on it sometime.
Debby, agreed, it was so disappointing. Love you, too! *squish*
Shame for such a pretty colour :(
I bought this one too although I have yet to roadtest it...
Claire, yeah, it was such a disappointment. Perhaps I will try thinning it out.
Melissa, let me know what you think once you try it. I'm curious to hear if this was just a freaky bottle. I truly hope so.
I did roadtest this one also from a pick up at Rite Aide - ditto to everything you said about it - great shade but did not hold up and left me reminding myself why I don't buy drugstore polishes (but for Essie now that it's there thanks to being bought by L'Oreal). I also got one by the same company in these little bottles in a great popular olive green/gold by their other company called CG. Same issues - probably same polish formulation is what I thought. 2 polishes bought at the drugstore and remind me of every other waste of $ I have spent in polish purchased at same place but for 2 lines I love in the Sally Hanson line. I cannot believe there is this shade going on eBAy right now ready to close at over $10 plus shipping for the bottle. Really glad you did pick this up, try it and turn out a review to keep others from wasting their $. Actually because Rite Aide takes returns - I did return mine and got my $ back for both.
Oh, that's great that you were able to get your money back. If I had tried this polish while still in NY, I definitely would have returned mine, too. At this point, I have it set aside from my other polishes to be used in frankening. I'm hoping that just a little of it mixed in with a better quality polish might make it usable. ;)
