Barielle - Wanna Samba?

Today I'd like to share my thoughts on Barielle's *Wanna Samba? from the Carnival Fiesta collection.  The following pic shows two coats, shot outdoors on a sunny day.
To my eye, Wanna Samba? is a shimmery duochrome, reading greenish-grey in some light and pinky-purple in others.  It is unique to my collection and really pretty.  It applied quite easily, with a rather thin formula, and was opaque in two coats.  The only flaw to this polish was that it chipped VERY easily.  It looked great, as pictured above, on the day of application but after showering the very next day, HUGE chips of polish had come off on most nails.  I was really disappointed.  I did not apply top coat which, of course, would have extended the wear but I did use base and found that compared to other polished I've used without top coating, this chipped far easier than most.  A bummer, for sure.  It's a really pretty color and next time, I will top coat it, for sure.

China Glaze - Running in Circles

I'm going to get right to the point.  I...LOVE...THIS...COLOR!  I was really excited to swatch China Glaze's *Running in Circles from the Cirque du Soleil collection.  As you probably know if you're a frequent reader of this blog, it is rare that I meet a blue or green polish that I do not love.  Well, this one, most definitely, did NOT disappoint.  I know that some folks are not into tootsie pics and I do apologize if you're one of them but I knew even before swatching that this beautiful holiday green would be one I'd want to wear for a while so I used it on my toes.  If you don't mind my foot, here's the pic!

Running in Circles is a gorgeous kelly green glitter.  It dried super-smooth and packs a shine that just won't quit.  I stuck my foot right up on the dashboard of my car to get this shot on a sunny day.  Two coats provided perfect coverage.  I really cannot say enough about this fabulous color.  Knowing the way I am with polished toes, this color will probably be with me into the start of the new year.  Ho-ho-whoa!  LOVE it!

China Glaze - It's a Trap-eze!

Today, I'd like to share one of the polishes from China Glaze's "Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away" collection.  This one is called *It's a Trap-eze!  Each of the following pics features two coats over one coat of base.
Shot outdoors, in sun.

Shot outdoors, in shade.

Shot indoors.

To my eye, It's a Trap-eze can probably best described as multi-colored glitter in varying sizes embedded in a sheer, milky white base.  I had a bit of trouble applying it.  I found that the glitter applied unevenly and often hung off the edges of my nails.  It also dried rather bumpy, as one would probably expect from such a chunky glitter.  However, my husband really liked this one on me and with a top coat, it wasn't rough-feeling, just bumpy.  It is definitely unique in my collection and if you're a fan of chunky glitters, it would certainly be worth a try.

Be sure to check back for more colors in this collection to be featured soon!
