Adina and Gray's - What a Pair!

Above, feast your eyes on Zoya Adina (pinky and middle finger) and Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy (ring finger and pointer). Adina is two coats and Gray's is three coats. I must be honest, I was shocked at how sheer Gray's turned out to be. It just goes to show that the bottle alone does not tell the story. However, I was delighted with Adina. Zoya describes this color as "Violet metallic multichrome. A frosty hint of green and magenta creates a unique "oil-slick" look." Adina definitely reads more purple or green, depending on the angle, and it is a gorgeous and, to my knowledge, very unique color. I'm not bashing Gray's, it's just not as opaque as I'd hoped it would be. I think that it will be a GREAT color for layering and will give other colors a bit of a duo-chrome effect. Easter Egg-y Goodness!

Even though Easter is almost a month away, I figure there's never a wrong time for a pastel Easter Egg-y mani. For this one, I used a variety of brands. The pink is SinfulColors Easy Going, yellow is China Glaze Lemon Fizz, green is China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, blue is OPI What's With the Catitude and lavender is China Glaze Light as Air. I applied two coats of each color with my usual base of Mystic Nails (which I'm almost completely out of, *tear*). I actually won the three CG colors in a contest thrown by a friend for her youtube channel. I fell in love with their lovely smooth application right away. I've always been partial to pastels so these colors were quite a wonderful treat. Because I am also crazy for rainbows, I knew right away I had to seek out and find a pink and blue to compliment the other three, knowing that they were born to be skittled. After quite the extensive search, I decided on the SinfulColors and OPI selections. (You'd be surprised how difficult it was to find a nice, opaque baby pink and baby blue.) I'm really quite pleased with how this turned out and I hope you like it, too! I will DEFINITELY be repeating this mani and since my color choices are never dictated by seasons, I'll be as likely to do it in the middle of November as I am in the spring.

Jo. Such a small name for such a big polish.

Yes, I'm paraphrasing from "Little Women" but in this case, the description is oh so appropriate. Jo was the second color I chose from Zoya's three free promotion. Zoya describes this color as "Delicate and serene looking medium periwinkle blue with subtle silver and blue toned shimmer. This calming, flattering blue is like stress relief therapy on your nails!" I really cannot argue with any of that. Again, I'm slightly (VERY) blue-biased but honestly, this color just makes me smile. It is so tranquil and peaceful looking and fairly opaque after only ONE coat (as pictured). I tend to go with no less than two coats of any polish and I always apply base and top coat as well (lately, I've been using Mystic Nails for both purposes and it's working great with all of my polishes). The polish applied very smoothly and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun new spring polish.

Kari On...Polish?

Hello, dear readers. Welcome to my new blog! Some of you may know, I write a blog entitled Kari On in which I discuss all of the day to day chaos, turmoil, drama and occasional beauty in my life. However, I've been posting polish pics and, in essence, polish blogging on my Facebook page for several months now and I thought that perhaps it was time for a blog devoted strictly to polish (thanks to my friend, Michelle, for the suggestion). I've loved polish since I was a little girl. However, my spark of interest was rekindled earlier this year (thanks to my friend, Destany, for pointing me in the direction of Zoya nail polish). I'm looking forward to relieving some of my near-constant stress and hopefully providing a little bit of information and fun to all who choose to read and/or follow this blog. Without further ado...

Presenting...Tallulah (forgive me, Tori Spelling, for bogarting the name of your children's book. I do *heart* me some Tori Spelling.)



Tallulah was my very first Zoya polish. If you know me at all, you know how much I adore all things blue. I chose Tallulah as one of my three free colors during Zoya's first Facebook promotion, in which you could choose three free colors and only pay $6.95 shipping. SUCH a great deal. Application was a DREAM and this is only ONE coat *gasp*. A Zoya love affair was born.

To those of you expecting "woe is me, Kari", trust me, she's not going anywhere, despite my best attempts to ditch her. However, she will be joined by "polish Kari" who is generally a hell of a lot more fun. Enjoy, won't you?
