Barielle - Blackened Bleu

I am so so SO excited to share with you the GORGEOUS *Barielle Blackened Bleu.  I would describe this as a black cream with electric blue glitter and honestly, I am crazy in love with this color.  For your viewing pleasure:

The formula on this one was a dream, thin and so easy to work with, and the color is a knockout.  Two coats provided perfect coverage.  As I've stated MANY times before, I am absolutely a blue girl, through and through, and the blue sparkle in this one is fabulous.  This color is so unique, dried quickly with a baby smooth and shiny finish (these pics are without top coat) and, as if you couldn't tell, I L-O-V-E it!

Barielle: Falling Star

I recently received three polishes from the folks at Barielle to review for you. Today I will feature *Falling Star which I would describe as a medium blue cream with copper colored glitter. Here are some pics for you:

I used a base coat of Avon Nail Expert Nutri-Boost Nutri-Plus and two coats of Falling Star. The formula was a little thick and therefore a bit challenging to work with. I was a little bit disappointed that the glitter is not as pronounced as it appeared in the bottle. Don't get me wrong, it is a lovely and very unique color. I had just hoped that the copper color would be a bit more *POW*, in your face, in contrast with the blue. However, I do like it a lot. The finish is nice and smooth, not gritty like so many glitter polishes are, and that's a big plus, in my book.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects: Cross My Heart

The folks at Sally Hansen were kind enough to send me some of their new Valentine's Day designed Salon Effects strips to review for you.  I received three patterns in all: *Are You Single?, *How Romantic and *Cross My Heart.  Here are some pics for you:

As you can see, I decided to try Cross My Heart.  I often use "xoxo" as a closing in my letters, e-mails and, as you might have noticed, this blog, so this pattern definitely spoke to me.  This was my second experience with Salon Effects and I found them a little bit easier to apply the second time around, though it was still a bit of a challenge.  The toughest part for me is lining them up exactly right on the nail and trimming the excess, if necessary.  It would probably be advisable to trim the strips before applying them but I've never been one to do things the easy way.  I love this pattern and would definitely wear it again, at any time of the year.  I think it is adorable for Valentine's Day but not SO holiday-oriented that you couldn't wear these year round.  

These strips are part of a Limited Edition collection so be sure to pick yours up asap.  I've seen this collection at both CVS and Walgreens.  They would definitely be a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day or just celebrate YOU!
